Recently, Chevy and狗万官方got together to give mobile entrepreneurs across a range of business types the opportunity to test the Chevy City Express LT in real-world conditions. The following is just one example of what these business owners experienced.

Alicia Whitney has spent most of her professional life in or around the restaurant industry. She worked at her uncle's restaurant in Huntington Beach, in food and beverage at casinos in Las Vegas, and for spirit suppliers. A few years ago, she left the business to have a baby. Following the birth of her daughter in 2010, Whitney "decided to put my passion on paper and write a business plan for a place of my own." On May 21, 2012, she made the dream a reality, opening SeaLegs Restaurant in Huntington Beach.

SeaLegs quickly caught on, earning a ton of positive reviews, three Golden Foodie Awards for Best California Cuisine in Orange County (among many other awards), and a large, dedicated following. "It's been a big hit and I'm grateful for all the success it's had," Whitney says.

The City Express makes a statement

Whitney had plenty of good things to say after piloting the Chevy City Express for a couple days, but her first impression was that "it looks very cool. It's very contemporary looking. When I think of a van, I kind of think of what your grandma drives. The City Express is not that. I can imagine it with a SeaLegs logo on it, helping us make an impression."

Not just taken with the looks, Whitney likes the whole package. "I'm used to driving a big SUV, and I feel like the size of the van is perfect," she notes. "It's comfortable in terms of ergonomics and it handles well. I also like the way it's equipped. The Bluetooth, back-up camera, SiriusXM Radio*…it feels pretty loaded with all the fixings. And the great gas mileage and low ground clearance make it easy to live and work with."

Riding along with growth

Whitney says that she's getting ready to expand into some new restaurant concepts and that the City Express is the perfect van to help do the job. "It would be great for catering and restaurant runs—something that could really be a part of our "growth spurt,'" she says. "Right now, I can see us using the van to help us deliver our custom-made cakes and be a part of the local events we sponsor. As I said, because it looks so cute, cool, and forward-thinking, I'd love for it to represent SeaLegs in the community."

* SiriusXM Radio is available on LT with 3-month trial period. If you subscribe after your trial period, subscriptions are continuous until you call SiriusXM to cancel.
