Screw the Competition. Entrepreneurs Need to Dominate From the Very Start.Constantly fighting against business competitors is no way to run a startup, says sales expert Grant Cardone.

So you've just launched a new product or service. You want to give the competing companies in your industry a run, or at least keep pace with them.

Sounds good, right? Wrong.Competition is for sissies, says sales expertGrant Cardone.

"I know the concept. If you're a good competitor, and I'm a competitor, and you run faster then supposedly I'll run faster. But if you're dependent on someone running faster, doing more, creating more quality -- if you're dependent on what somebody else does then you're in trouble," Cardone says.

Instead of always competing, the idea, Cardone says, is to get out ahead and dominate your space right from the start. Control it.

"You can't create anything great looking at what other people are doing," he says. "You need to get your thing and dominate."
