Ayah Bdeir built her startupLittleBitsto help anyone gain a greater grasp of how technology actually works. Her company sells DIY kits that use open source building blocks. These pieces help users understand not just how a grand scale connected home could actually function, but how to design a solution of their own.
"The risk that we run as a society of not understanding technology [and] the world around us, is that we become passengers in our life. We become passive consumers of technology," says Bdeir.
