Growing up amid colorful fabrics and well-embroidered aesthetics, Tamil Nadu-basedVijayaLakshmi Nachair's interest in textile designing since childhood comes as no surprise. Taking her interest further in textile designing, she did her Masters in Textile and Clothing, but couldn't continue her passion beyond her studies at that time. Little did she know that her childhood fascination would shape into a huge textile business. Nachair embarked on her entrepreneurial journey after fifteen years of marriage with her husband, Mani Chinnaswamy.

她给了印度,一个一个的有机时尚brand,Ethicus Studios, which is currently weaving the success story of more than 800 farmers in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka with its ethical definition of farming i.e. organic farming.

While working in her family business of manufacturing cotton saris, Nachair was shocked to see the amount of pesticides farmers used to grow cotton. This prompted her to start a fashion brand that would change the dynamics of textile business and inspire many others to do the same.

In a chat with Entrepreneur India, Nachair shared what kindled her to embark on an entrepreneurial journey long time after marriage and how is she making a difference in the lives of women farmers in Tamil Nadu, India who were groaning under crisis earlier.

"The lives of farmers have become much healthier and more economically sustainable as they are not just growing one crop but many crops at a time," told Nachair.
