On the sidelines of GITEX 2019, we ask entrepreneurs how they deal with rejection on their entrepreneurial journey. Sharing their insights are the entrepreneurs behindAzaadHealth, a patient-centered health data exchange network powered byblockchaintech, which aggregates patient's health information from healthcare providers and wearable wellness devices;Junkbot, a DIY robotic kit that enables children and adult enthusiasts to create and build working robots from unwanted junk for a variety of functions; andMirach Innovations, a company which offers IoT-based solutions to businesses for various industries.
Syed Abrar Ahmed, CEO of AzaadHealth, explains that he's been learning how to cultivate a Stoicism philosophy of "going in with the mindset that you've already failed" when he approaches investors or potential competitions. Setting his expectations low has enabled him to appreciate victories better, as well as move on from disappointments easily. Arun Kumar, Software Architect at Junkbot, notes that rejection and disappointments as anatural part of entrepreneurship, and on such occurances, they take a hard look on their past actions and discuss how they can move forward mistakes. Najmuddin A. K. Warsi, General Manager of Mirach Innovations, says it's all abour preparation, "We are very much prepared for nine rejections, and one success." Check out the video for more insights!
