Consider conceptual configurations like Haworth Inc.'s Flo(storage unit shown at right). Although still just an abstractvision in the testing stages, this lavender and honey-coloredworkstation attempts to create an environment that enhances bothintellectual and creative tasks (a discipline known as cognitiveergonomics). How is that accomplished? By providing the user withan organizational system patterned after that of the mind. Forinstance, the Flo sports an upright shelf along the desk's backedge designed to display all work-in-progress. And to keep alldocuments in check, matching storage units offer a cubbyhole-likesystem for paper organization.
