I am a broker who represents several manufacturers. I'm looking for clear guidelines on how to sell FOB without the manufacturer or customer knowing my purchase price. How does the bill of lading work in this scenario?It sounds as if this is just a paperwork issue--and you would need to work to make sure that what is contained on the shipping documents is not the same as is contained in any other billing or pricing documents.
Good communications between you and your supplier would seem to be the key for keeping pricing discreet and making sure any information about your margin is protected.
